So maybe you’ve been following health guru’s on twitter and scrolled past some obscure people stating they’ve been drinking celery juice first thing on an empty stomach or maybe you’ve fallen for my clickbait of a title wondering why on earth someone would torture themselves with a whole glass of potent celery juice everyday (to be honest maybe it’s just my housemates who think I’m mad as the rest of the internet seems in love). But the benefits of this stalk and how it’s changed my life are too great not to share.

Before I get into the benefits, I have a recipe which I have honed down to make your gut feel like you’ve not eaten unhealthy food a day in your life.
What you need:
- Juicer OR
Blender, Sieve, bowl and Spoon or Milkbag - Half a Celery bunch
- Half a lemon/lime
- Half a thumb of Ginger
Method:
This is mostly for those that don’t own a juicer and isa very simple way to make juice with common household equipment. First add all ingredients to a blender and mix. Then using a fine sieve let the liquid filter through using a spoon to aid you or for an even easier experience squeeze through a nut milk bag.

Now for the benefits.. It is anti-inflammatory and great for gut including significant IBS relief, full of mineral salts and electrolytes, pure cellular hydration and assists the adrenal glands. You can create change within your bodies PH balance as it is an alkaline food. Also a natural diuretic which flushes out many toxins from your body and it is even proven to lower cholesterol. With only 2 stalks being able to lower your levels considerably. And never mind the weight loss it can aid with and if that doesn’t sound wonderful with my recipe there are even more added benefits. Ginger is also an anti inflammatory and Lemon/Lime is great for detoxing.
One part I can certainly talk on is the IBS effects. After having my concoction for about 2 weeks I could feel massive healing power going on within my gut. I had more energy and felt less pain after trigger meals. I’ve seen people who have cured their IBS through having celery juice every morning for a month. As I’m not a doctor I can obviously not state it will do the same for you but I have felt significantly better through this drink.
