The second in the series of period talks. Ovulation is the summer time of your month. Your feeling bright and full of energy, it’s maybe also the full moon. As often women end up syncing with the moon that way. The cycles at this time are here to illuminate parts of yourself that require attention and also for showing off your radiance. Not to worry if that’s not the case for you. I myself ovulate on the new moon and with unnatural lighting inside and out our rhythms can/have been offset. History speculates that under the natural shine of the moon all women would sync up and ovulate near enough together. Women would get together in ceremony and it was a sacred time in a tribe.

Ovulation lasts around 3-5 days and your estrogen is at its highest now. You’ll probably have a higher sex drive (now is the bodies baby making time). Have more energy and will feel more outgoing. You should do high intensity workouts, be busy socialising and shagging them boys but don’t be skimpy on that protection as you’re most likely to get pregnant now. Those not attracted to men have the upper hand in that court.
You want to be eating light meals to go with your energy as heavy meals feel grounding and can bring your energy levels down. Think salads and lightly sauteed vegetables. Your previous phase was the best time for creativity and now it’s time for completing stuff you started in that phase. You’re more expressive and might even feel more magnetizing. The ovulation glow is real. Relationships should come to the forefront at this time.
To balance your hormones It’s suggested to be eating foods such as Quinoa and lentils. Asparagus , bell peppers, spinach, turmeric, tomatoes, eggplant. (just look up cycle syncing for a food chart). These food types will aid balancing and help you conceive if that is your current goal. For this recipe I have created a spicy mexican flavoured sauce to go along with a healthy salad.

Tips and instructions (because we all know how to make a salad)
Boil the Quinoa with a teaspoon of turmeric powder (or the root if you prefer) for 15 minutes.
Sauteed the asparagus with the clove of garlic for 2-3 minutes.
Massage the kale leaves to release flavour and make it easier to digest.
Add salt and pepper to the tomatoes.
Allow the quinoa and asparagus to cool then mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and leave to marinate for extra flavour. It is great to eat straight away as well.
